Richard Paget of ‘My Apple Juice’ is asking that anyone wanting their apples to be pressed this week, to wait until about Thursday and then call before bringing the apples in, and if you have already had your apples pressed and bottled, and received confirmation, then please come and collect.
“It’s been a bumper crop this year” Richard told Marlborough.news. He adds that there aren’t many big apples but lots and lots of smaller apples, there have been plenty of bees to pollinate and it’s the ‘alternate year’ so a great crop. He described it as a ‘staggering crop of fruit”.
All can be done even though the volume this year is enormous, and Richard wants to make sure that all of his regular clients across the wider Marlborough area will get their apples pressed and juice bottled, but help him this time. Last year they made 65,000 bottles of juice from 110 tons of home grown apples, this year is likely to be 100,000 bottles from 150 tons.
