Tesco are to employ a private parking firm to stop the store’s car park filling up with drivers taking over a free all-day parking bay – in their free car park. On some days shoppers cannot find a space.
With the shortage of free parking around the town and the imminent arrival of many construction workers for the Redrow Homes building site, the management have had to take action.

The system will fine drivers £70 if they overstay the two-hour free parking time allowed for shoppers at the store.
Councillors were worried that some private parking forms have been over zealous in pursuing fines for the smallest infringement.
The Town Clerk will be writing to the Tesco manager to explain councillors’ anxieties.
