The cost of car parking – and claims that local councils are ripping off residents – will be highlighted at the annual parish meeting Marlborough Town Council is holding at the Town Hall on April 28.
“There will be short presentations by all the committee chairmen, including myself,” Mayor Guy Loosmore told councillors on Monday. This is a meeting where people can come and listen to what we have been doing as a council and also discuss one or two things that might interest them.”
And he revealed: “One of the elements I have added this year is about parking in Marlborough. It is an emotive subject. I do not expect to find all the solutions on that evening, but it is a debate we need to have in this town.
“It is not a meeting where we take decisions but one where we hear what people’s concerns are.”
