Kingsbury Street and Silverless Street are not the only places in Marlborough playing host to unsuitably large trucks which have taken inappropriate routes.
This truck was photographed at 6.00pm on March 3 after it had turned into Savernake Court instead of into the London Road. It took some time to get this stuck truck out again.
And it is not alone – Savernake Court seems bedevilled by such Satnav errors as long-haul trucks pass through the town.
The ‘No Entry’ signs have now gone up at the Herd Street end of Silverless Street – so we should not see any more mammoth trucks trying to turn out of narrow Silverless Street into busy Kingsbury Street and taking bits of Dormy House with them.
However, earlier this week an articulated lorry had to reverse back down Kingsbury Street towards the town hall after making a fruitless attempt to turn into Silverless Street.
One can just imagine what his Satnav was shouting at him.
