
Starting in March 2026, this two-year project funded by National Lottery will support 26 rural
communities across the Vale of Pewsey under the umbrella of Pewsey Community Area Partnership
(PCAP). The aim is to enable local communities to respond eHectively to problems caused by climate
change:
- Flooding & poor water quality
- Nature loss and pressures on farming
- Home energy costs & community emissions
Working with community champions, residents, voluntary organisations, schools, churches, parish
councils and businesses to tackle climate change, the Green Vale project will share practical ideas,
knowledge and lessons learned to enable local communities to build climate resilience and support nature recovery. For more details, see: www.greenvale.org.uk
The project officer role:
This role is key to the success of the project. The project oHicer will act a knowledge broker, sharing practical ideas and good practice across a population of over 18000 to enable people to act locally. Good written, online and spoken communication skills essential
Key skills and responsibilities:
- Working with complex issues to identify most appropriate action, then helping make it happen
- Developing and maintaining the project social media profile and website
- Maintaining a contact list and sending out monthly newsletters (following GDPR principles)
- Organising meetings and events for a wide audience
- Helping to evaluate the impact of the project
About You:
- Enthusiastic, fluent communicator on paper and face to face
- Self-employed with a “can-do” attitude and a desire to get stuck in
- Self-motivated and a team player
- Enjoy practical problem solving
- Good level of numeracy and IT skills
- Ideally a graduate in a relevant disciple and a driver with access to a car
