Parish Administrator
A new chapter is opening in the life of St Mary’s with two new clergy, new churchwardens and a freshened sense of mission and purpose. The Parish administrator will be joining this growing team. The primary purpose of the role is to provide all the administrative support for the clergy in the team and to be a welcoming first point of contact for enquirers.
Based at the church office in the parish hall in Silverless Street, for 20 hours per week ideally spread over 5 mornings; £12 per hour with 25 days of holiday (pro rata) plus 8 bank holidays.

Purpose:
- A new chapter is opening in the life of St Mary’s with two new clergy, new churchwardens and a freshened sense of mission and purpose. The Parish administrator will be joining this growing team. The primary purpose of the role is to provide all the administrative support for the clergy in the team and to be a welcoming first point of contact for enquirers.
Key Tasks:
The job will include:
- Administrative support for the team’s clergy and licensed lay minister.
- Editing and producing high-impact weekly notice sheets, including compiling prayer topics.
- Production of excellent service sheets, leaflets, posters, invitations, rotas etc
- Maintaining the team diary.
- Media communication through various newsletters and social media.
- Providing administrative support for St Mary’s Standing Committee and PCC.
- Helping families with weddings, baptisms and funerals; specifically with fees and bookings.
- Attendance at staff meetings and prayers.
- Liaison with the other churches in Marlborough.
- Development of the team’s website.

Benefits and Pay:
- The administrator is directly responsible to the Team Rector.
- The role is based in the church office, which will be upgraded for the new administrator. This is located in the Parish Hall on Silverless Street, Marlborough, SN8 1JQ.
- 20 hours per week, ideally spaced over 5 mornings
- Training offered as needed
- £12 per hour, paid monthly in arrears
