Two not-for-profit community organisations are joining forces to make Marlborough’s Christmas lights extravaganza bigger and better than ever.
We Love Marlborough will run its fourth annual Christmas arts market and Santa’s Grotto in the Town Hall on the night of the Christmas Lights switch-on.
Meanwhile, Marlborough Communities Market will be replicating its popular monthly local produce market in Marlborough High Street.
We Love Christmas will start at 3pm on Thursday 29 November, with Santa and his helpers arriving at his grotto in the Town Hall assembly room to meet children straight out of school or nursery.
Also in the assembly room, artist James Aldridge will be helping children to make Christmas Crowns..
Meanwhile, downstairs, local artists and crafts people will be selling sell original and affordable Christmas gifts.
Outside, traders from Marlborough Communities Market – which has become a highlight of the town’s social calendar since the first event in July – will offer local and seasonal produce from 3pm to 8pm at their special Lights Night event.
Organisers will also be giving away a free Marlborough Communities Market jute bag to 500 lucky shoppers.
The event will also feature late night shopping organised by Marlborough Chamber of Commerce, live music, and the all-important Christmas Lights switch-on, organised by the Town Council, at 7pm.
