At the beginning of the school term Ogbourne Primary School welcomed their new reception class children and each child was given a Year 5 buddy to help them settle into school routines. The children have been getting to know each other, engaging in a lot of outside constructive play and puzzles as well as taking first steps towards learning to read with brand new books.

Lucy Crump, Principal of Ogbourne Primary School said, “We are delighted to welcome our new EYFS children to Ogbourne. We are so impressed with how well they have settled into their new class and how well they are already beginning to learn the rules and routines.

They have been having a great time exploring all the resources in the setting. They have also made a brilliant start to phonics sessions and are enjoying their new reading books. Their Year 5 buddies have been taking excellent care of them and helping them to find their way around school.”
