Marlborough Captain Arran Dickinson will be encouraging his team to up their game from last Saturday’s comprehensive nine wicket defeat at Trowbridge which brought an end to their title challenge.
A return to winning ways for the last two games of the season, this week at home to Winlsey and next week away at Malmesbury the divisions two bottom clubs, will guarantee the Forest outfit a top three finish and in line with the clubs target for the season.
Dickinson says: “A top three finish is what we set out for at the start of the season and achieving this will show to potential new players that the club is going in the right direction with ambitions that are more than achievable. With the League restructuring at the end of this season Marlborough will be a tier three side next year and one that I believe with the addition of a couple of quality players will clearly be able to compete for higher League cricket in the future.”
Marlborough make a couple of changes for this week’s game bringing back into the side Batsmen Tom Palmer and Will Thomas both now available following work commitments and bowler Paul Smith.
Dickinson will be hoping Palmer picks up from where he left off at the start of the season which saw him average just short of 40 in his first six games of the season before a change in his work role made him unavailable for a big part of the season.
