Do not put Blue Bin (mixed dry recycling) or Black Box (glass) out for collection between now and 20 March.
This apparently only affects recycling – not Household Waste.
This is contrary to the advice received previously, where Wiltshire council advised residents to put both household rubbish and recycling out as per normal.
A strike has been called by the GMB union which will affect some collection activity but Wiltshire Council have told marlborough.news that household rubbish collections ‘will be prioritised’.
Apparently two unions are involved, the GMB members have rejected the contractor’s (Hills) revised offer whilst Unison members voted to accept.
So we hope all collections will continue as per the normal schedules but would advise any resident whose collection is missed – due to strike or for any other reason – to contact the Council to report.
