Valentine Night in Marlborough centred on the Town Hall where Mayor Kym-Marie Cleasby had organised and created a special Gala Dinner to raise funds for Love Marlborough Kids Meals. And while the many there danced the night away the evening generated more than £5,000 to go directly to Marlborough’s own charity that provides hot chicken dinners for local children, ensuring that families in need receive essential, nutritious meal. The Valentine Gala Dinner was a resounding success.
A very popular event, attended by many members of the Marlborough and surrounding community, who enjoyed an evening of fantastic entertainment, delicious food, and heartfelt moments, all in support of a cause that makes a real difference to families across Marlborough.
It wasn’t just the spread of food, prepared by same dedicated volunteers who cook weekly for the families supported by Love Marlborough Kids Meals whose passion and commitment to feeding local children shone through in both the food and the warm atmosphere of the night. It was also the entertainment. Making the evening swing were:
- MADD (Marlborough Academy for Dance), who dazzled with their performance.
- Chris Goulding leading the lively ceilidh (traditional folk dance).
- The Rogues, a talented three-piece band, who kept everyone dancing into the night.
Adding a personal touch to the evening, Anastasia, a local mother whose family has directly benefited from the Love Marlborough Kids Meals initiative, shared her heartfelt story, expressing gratitude for the charity’s support.
Organisers Kym-Marie and Cath Williams were keen to thank all of those who created the success of the Gala Dinner.
Cath also added: “Kids Meals are hugely grateful for the money raised and support from our community through the Valentine’s Gala Dinner on Friday evening. The organising team, catering staff and entertainment all made it a memorable occasion.”
She also explained how important it is to continue providing a hot family meal every week for almost fifty local families, with all the money raised going directly to feeding children and young people in families who are struggling.
