The 2025 Hope and Homes for Children Carol Concert and Service which took place in Marlborough College Chapel on Saturday December 13th has raised a whopping £10K to support the work of the charity. The charity’s slogan is Back to Family. Hope and Homes works to find alternative, high quality family based care for vulnerable children, who otherwise would be in orphanages. Their work is now recognized as best practice by UNICEF and the World Health Organisation.
Alison Netherclift from the Vale of Pewsey Hope and Homes for Children Support Group told Marlborough.news,” We were delighted that the founder of the charity, Col. Mark Cook, was able to join us this year for what has become an annual event and who gave an Address on behalf of Hope and Homes for Children, as he did at our first Carol Concert in 2010.
Our thanks go to all who took part and gave their time in supporting this event. A welcome to everyone was given by the Revd Colin Heber-Percy who officiated throughout the service. Performances were given by: The Ramsbury Bella Voce Choir; Oare and Great Bedwyn Primary Schools Choir; The Bluebelles, A Capella Group; former Wells Cathedral choristers Freya Williams and Aleksei Lichter; 14 year old flautist Beth Brown. The organ was played by Chris De Souza.
We would also like to thank our sponsors Haine and Smith Opticians, Indigo Antiques and Berkshire Trout. We are also grateful for the support of Kim Vine and The White Horse Book shop for selling tickets for us.
Thanks to our sponsors, the generosity of everyone who donated to the retiring collection and many who donated online to the charity following the concert and together with ticket sales, we are able to pass an amazing final total of £10,000 to Hope and Homes for Children to help support the valuable work of the charity. Thank you to all who have made this possible.”
