Yesterday, October 12, Kennet Valley School raised in excess of £150 for Macmillan Cancer Support by holding a coffee morning. Kennet Valley’s School Council, which is made up of representatives from every year group alongside a team of Year 6s who hold additional responsibilities, organised the coffee morning. Parents past and present, together with members of the local community, joined the children to eat cake, drink tea, chat and raise money.
Katie Mallinson, Headteacher, said, “At the time of writing, our Year 6 treasurer has yet to do the final count, but we already know we have raised over £150. This is a fantastic start to our fund raising and demonstrates the impact that a ‘Small but Mighty’ village school can have!”
