Elsie Monro is ten years old. At 3pm on Sunday (June 25) she will start a big swim. She aims to swim 100 lengths of the Marlborough Leisure Centre pool to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society, which supports research into the disease and supports those living with it.
Even while she has been practising for her big swim, Elsie has raised £600.
Elsie says: “My mum was diagnosed with MS a long time ago, but got worse ten months ago. It is much better now. I would like to help other people who are going through the same thing and worse.”
Elsie’s Mum, Charlie Monro, says: “Bless her, it’s all her own idea and initiative. I’m so proud I could burst.”
