Pewsey Vale Support Group for Hope and Homes for Children(HHC) held their annual summer walk for the charity in sunny weather in June. A total of £500 was raised from donations and since the walk was so popular a winter walk is planned for November. The group also look forward to their major fundraising event – the Carol Concert in Marlborough College – which this year will be held at 4pm on Saturday December 13.
Alison Netherclift, from the Pewsey Vale Support Group Committee, told Marlborough.news, “Over 30 people joined a walk in the beautiful Ramsbury countryside on a perfect summer evening in June.Donations of almost £500 were collected towards the work of the Charity. This was a lovely social occasion with those who have joined our walks before and we were delighted to have some new faces join us this year too.
Our stop halfway round allowed everyone to chat and get to know each other(including some very well behaved dogs who joined us).
The Vale of Pewsey Hope and Homes Committee would like to thank all those who came and so generously gave a donation.
Our annual walks have been extremely popular over many years and we have been asked if we will arrange a winter walk this year which we will be holding in November. For more details of our winter walk please contact me on 01672562777 or 07584763678.”
HHC has a local connection. Colonel Mark and Caroline Cook, who lived in West Stowell, near Marlborough founded the charity after their experience of Bjelave orphanage, in Bosnia. The charity is now working around the world to get separated children out of orphanages and back to family.
