There was much excitement at Pewsey Primary School when local celebrities, writer and broadcaster Mary Killen and her artist husband Giles Wood, visited the school to declare open their new outdoor play equipment.
Assistant Headteacher, Bex Murray, said, “An enormous hip hip hooray cheer came from the young people to thank those who donated to make this happen. The main donors have chosen to remain anonymous but all know how thrilled the school is with what has been made possible along with the school PTA fundraising. I’m sure they will enjoy hearing what great adventures the pupils will have playing on it.
Next up for Pewsey Primary is to continue fundraising to purchase even more texts to support their exciting reading curriculum. At Pewsey Primary the bespoke curriculum has been designed and written to include many real-life experiences. Educational trips for coastal field work at Durdle Door, Goldsworthy inspired Art and mini beast studies at Westonbirt Arboretum and a hop on the train to the Roman Baths to name but a few. The school will continue to update their stock of high quality books inspiring our learners and further hooking them into high quality literature.”
