As from today – Monday 16 February – It’s ‘Slow Down’ day in many streets in Marlborough. The most notable is George Lane. A notice issued by Wiltshire Council can be viewed and downloaded by clicking here. Not just George Lane, but the High Street is 20mph for its entire length
There are quite a few of the roads on the list where anything more than twenty mph is unlikely at any time – Figgins Lane, St John’s Close, or Culvermead Close to name but three – but most of the town is now subject to a 20mph limit.
So if your car is fitted with a max speed control device (opposite of ‘cruise contyrol’) set that to 20mph when driving anywhere in the town
