The former Ladbrokes at 30 High Street will become a restaurant, soon. A Planning Application has been submitted – PL/2026/01015. What type of restaurant? As yet this isn’t certain although rumours abound of Sushi, Nepalese and more. Maybe, given the former nature of the premises, open to a bet….
Or could become a take-away, serving anyone waiting for a bus, sitting on one of the Jubilee Centre benches or just hanging around outside One Stop?

The agents making the application are London based, not local whereas a successful application for Listed Building consent – PL/2025/09422 – does name a local applicant, but as yet we have no confirmation.
The application is for a two story restaurant – so not small – with office space on the upper (second) floor.
When? The premises does require significant works to restore to a useable state so not immediate, but likely Marlborough will have one additional restaurant soon. Good news in the light of the recent closures of Rick Stein, Pagoda and Prezzo (premises still empty) before that.
