Children who started in the reception class at Pewsey Primary this term have been busy getting to know each other and their new environment. This has involved collecting apples, pears and blackberries from the school orchard and then baking apple cakes. As term progresses they will be learning more about themselves, their homes and families and about the different communities that they are part of in school and in Pewsey.
Sara Kemp, Reception Teacher and Deputy Head-teacher, said, “The children in Reception are settling really well at Pewsey Primary School. They have been enjoying the classroom and outside space, and have taken part in lots of learning activities. Last week, they even picked fruit from our school orchard and then made cakes with it! We are looking forward to watching them grow and progress during the year.”
Pewsey Primary School is offering Pop in and Play Sessions for 3 and 4 year olds on Thursday October 2nd October and Tuesday November 25th from 3.15 to 4pm. There are also two Open Days on Thursday October 9th at 9.30 am and Thursday November 20th at 1.15 aimed at parents whose child will be starting reception in September 2026.
