Port Hill – A346:
And now the A346 between Port Hill and Ogbourne Maizey – closed from Sunday 16 Feb at 7pm to Wednesday 19 Feb at 07:00. See below:
We believe this to be a full time closure rather than just overnight – according to the ‘one.network’ information site. Or is it going ahead this month even? When we get confirmation either way we will update. To date (Weds lunchtime), no reply to these questions.
This ‘one.network’ site is now showing that the A346 road is closed for Thames Water work on this same stretch, and will be until 12 February. All mention of the resurfacing work next week has gone, but appears to be rescheduled across two days – 10-12 March. How has this major works been changed at such short notice? What is happening, or scheduled to happen is becoming a real mystery and we can only find out when it actually happens. We understand that the information on this site is controlled by Wiltshire Council.
And a reminder……
Barn Street – which runs between Herd Street and the Wye House roundabout will be closed completely for OpenReach works between 15 and 21 February.
Not overnight or between specific hours each day, but a complete closure. We understand that it is to repair a collapsed manhole structure which will necessitate the road being closed entirely at that point.
Thankfully it will not conflict with the M4 overnight eastbound closure dates when HGV M4 traffic will be diverted down Herd St and Barn St. The dates for this have been amended to accommodate this closure.
The longer scale diversion is for A346 traffic to go via Avebury and Wroughton on the A361, then east along the A4 to Marlborough. Smaller local traffic will probably use Kingsbury St and the High Street, but that isn’t listed on the one.network advice.
