
The growing junior group of players at Marlborough Cricket Club will be able to start their indoor training for the coming season very soon at St John’s (boys) and at the Leisure Centre (girls). The boys and girls teams are becoming a very popular area for Marlborough Cricket, the emphasis very much on taking part, enjoyment and getting the fun from cricket. One of our ‘traditiional’ games and central to the communities throughout the country. Here, in Marlborough the Cricket Club is active, welcoming and offering youngsters potentially lots of fun, enjoyment and achievement. And welcoming all new players, whether they have ever played cricket or not.
Girls traing will start at the Marlborough Leisure Centre on Thursday 5 February, and will be every Thursday between 17:30 and 19:00. Boys training will be at St John’s, starting on Tuesday 27 January and will run between 17:00 and 18:30 each time.
All equipment and coaching is provided and no experience is necessary. This year Marlborough Cricket Club have entered both the Girls and Boys teams into Wiltshire leagues and will be continuing to invest in the Junior section which is importantr and growing. Today’s junior players are tomorrow’s seniors, and who know what beyond?
The club are keen to let everyone now that they will be having several socials events through the year, so emphasis is very much on the fun and social side as well as developing their cricket – a chance for the children to make new friends and memories.
