This concert marks the choir’s silver anniversary. The first concert was sung in the same church, in October 2000, conducted by its then conductor Sir Peter Beale. The programme ranges from Palestrina and Wilbye in the 16^th century, via the 18^th (Handel), 19^th (Bruckner, Pearsall,…) and 20^th (Goodall, Parry, Rutter, Moeran,…) centuries to an ‘Ave Maria’ recently composed by Julian Martin, one of the choir’s tenors.
