Last Saturday, April 9, over £1000 was raised to send to the charity Hope and Homes for Children to assist their work in Ukraine. Walkers donated a minimum of £5 to participate in a walk which started from the centre of Pewsey.
Liz Johnson, from Hope and Homes for Children Vale of Pewsey Support Group, told Marlborough.news, “A group of around fifty walkers enjoyed several hours in stunning Wiltshire scenery, shown at its best in glorious spring sunshine.
A huge thank-you to everyone who took part and also to those who could not come but made donations anyway.
As a result of your generosity, we have been able to send over £1,000 to help the crucial urgent efforts of our charity to care for orphans and refugees fleeing from the atrocities in Ukraine – a wonderful result.
Any further contributions would still be gratefully received – send to Hope and Homes for Children, Lloyds Bank Sort Code 30-92-63 Account Number 02175267.
Alison Netherclift, also a member of the Hope and Homes for Children Vale of Pewsey Support Group, said, “Ukraine is a country the charity has been supporting for many years and now their work will be more vital than ever. Please do support us. We are fundraising throughout the year and will be holding our December Carol Concert again this year to raise more funds.”
