Wiltshire County Mens tennis players have secured promotion from Group 6 of the after a hat-trick of victories at the AEGON Winter County Cup in Prestwick, Scotland recently.
The team led by Captain Neil Watts from Swindon beat teams from South of Scotland (9-0), Avon (5-0) and the Isle of Man (7-2).
The team comprised of Neil Watts (Swindon), Tom Williams (Devizes), Steve Yeardley (Swindon), William Bissett (Devizes), Ben Langley (Swindon), Taylan Ozdemir (Swindon), Giles Hussey (Swindon), and Ross Gilbert (Bradford-On-Avon).
The Ladies fared less well, with a 6-3 win against West of Scotland followed by a 5-4 loss to Staffordshire and a 5-4 loss to Derbyshire at Tipton Sports Academy.
The team – which comprised of Katy Hancock (Swindon), Becky Prince (Swindon), Niamh Townsend (Swindon), Sophie Clark (Swindon), Lauren Prince (Swindon), Sophia Haine (Salisbury), and Becky Poole (Swindon) – remain in Group 4.
