MYFC Angels had an outing to Wembley on Saturday 13 May to watch the Ladies FA Cup Final between Manchester City and Birmingham City.
A testament to how the Angels section of MYFC has grown in the last couple of years is proven by the fact that they managed to fill Barnes Coaches largest bus with 45 MYFC players, plus, parents and siblings to make a total of 96 (no room left on the bus!!) for a fantastic day out of spectacular football action.
A number of England International players were taking part including current England Skipper Steph Houghton, plus FIFA World player of the year Carli Lloyd, from the US playing for Man City, and the match was watched by a record attendance of 35,000. Man City went on to win the game 4-1.
MYFC Angels now have 60 girls playing regularly, and continue to grow year on year. Becky Knox (FA level 2 Qualified) is the Angels manager and Coach and is assisted by John Whitehead anda number of other members of the coaching team.
Next season they will be participating in two Wiltshire leagues at U11 and U13 level, with many younger girls coming up through the ranks.
New players are always very welcome; please contact Becky Knox beckyk@myfc.me.uk, for details.
