Marlborough Youth Football Club have just announced the two winners of their ‘Player of The Year’ votes. Reggie Price, who was in last year’s U6 squad was voted ‘Player of The Year’ in the Public vote, whilst Georgia Galley, a member of the MYFC Angels U12 Foxes team won the Club vote.
MYFC chair, Stuart Slater explained why both players deserved their awards:
Reggie Price (U6 Mixed):
“Reggie had a major leg operation this season where he had rods inserted in it to strengthen it. He made absolutely no fuss about it and is now back playing as if nothing had happened. Whilst he was out he came to all his brother’s matches to support him which is not easy to do when you love football and are desperate to play. He is only 6 but is a fantastic example to all the other players in the way he plays, his friendliness and his big smile!”
Georgia Galley (MYFC Angels – U12 Foxes):
“Georgia is an integral part of the U12 Foxes team, not only for her outstanding qualities on the pitch but also for her leadership and attitude off the pitch. Georgia is well liked by all the team, always listens during training and on match days, she is a pleasure to coach. On match days Georgia is willing to play wherever she is needed on the pitch and is a true ‘engine room’ for the team, leaving nothing out on the pitch and backing up teammates wherever and whenever needed. Away from the foxes, Georgia had a successful season at both Swindon Town and the Wiltshire Girls Advance Coaching Centre, moving on to have trials at both Bristol and Reading. Georgia has a very promising future as she is the all round package that any coach would look for. Well done Georgia”.
