Ben Llewelyn – MYFC U14
“Ben Llewelyn gets the vote for the U14s supports player. Ben’s been with the team since U7s and has grown into one of our strongest players who is always available for selection and always gives 100%. This season Ben has also played up a year for the STFC Elite team and has now been invited to join Wiltshire FC in the JPL. MYFC helped mould Ben in to the player he is now and even with all the other football commitments he has, Ben remains a loyal and devoted MYFC player and is looking forward to another season with us next year”.
Isabella Tolley – MYFC Angels U13
“Isabella (Izzy) is an extremely committed player who loves her football. In training she has been the most willing to learn and develop and her attitude is always spot on – always committed and very positive. This translates on match days into what often seems like superhuman effort to do everything she can for her team. Usually playing in midfield Izzy will support her teammates all over the pitch. She never fails to make recovery runs when the team loses possession and is always available to be on the ball even when the team is under pressure so she can take the fight to the opposition and get them on the back foot. She has also happily played in defence and in goal when the circumstances have required it and is an extremely versatile player. In a season which has had its ups and down in terms of results Izzy has never wavered and always left everything on the pitch. And winning this award would mean the world to her”
Rohan Dave – MYFC U11 Eagles
“Rohan has spent almost the whole season injured after a freak accident with a trampoline yet supported his twin brother in every game of the season. He recovered for the last 3 games of the season where he was brilliant showing what we had missed all season and capped it off with a hat-trick in final game”
“Tom Giles – MYFC U11 Falcons”
Tom has only missed on game all season and is happy to play wherever he is asked without fuss and is always looking to learn in training and in matches. He is a pleasure to coach and sets a great example to his teammates with his determination and positive attitude.
Elise Haines – MYFC Angels U11 Foxes
“It is a very hard job to select just one member of the U11 team as they have all been fantastic and grown as individuals and as a team. One player that always stands out to parents and coaches from our own team and others is Elise. At the beginning of the season Elise chose to give up gymnastics to make football her main sport and from the start has been an essential part of the U11 squad both on and off the pitch. Elise is always at training, trying her best and also offering help to other players and to the coaches. She is extremely polite to everyone and although shy in some ways, she has the confidence and maturity to give her opinion on what she feels the team needs and how we could help each other. On match days Elise is happy to play in any position asked of her, including Goalkeeper and will play her heart out for the team; she never gives up and is always keen to help out. Her game understanding is way beyond her years and has the footwork to match it. Elise is an absolute pleasure to coach and has the potential to go very far with her football”.
Elliot Smith – MYFC U18
“My nomination for club player of the year is Elliot Smith. Elliot has had a great season for us playing 13 out of 17 games and scoring 5 goals. However, he has also pioneered the integration into senior football with Marlborough Town having played 12 games and scored 8 goals for the Reserves. Moreover, he has since progressed to the MTFC 1st team and has played 7 games scoring 1 goal and assisting in several, and is now an automatic choice for the firsts. This is despite still being just 17 years old as his 18th birthday is not until July! Elliot has a great attitude and can play in any position on the field, though is best up front or as a wide midfield/attacking player. He is really popular with all his team mates both at MYFC and MTFC, where his skill, pace, tenacity, physicality and hard work has earned him much respect”.
Fred Hatch – MYFC U15
“Freddie plays centre back for the Under 15s. He reads the game, is an excellent defender; hard to beat, hard-tackling when needed and calm in possession, a goal scorer and cool penalty-taker. These qualities alone are not what make him our Captain. These qualities alone are not what made him our Player of the Season. Rather, it is Freddie’s character. Fred is both a team player and a true leader on the pitch and is a fine example to his team mates and all who see him play. The same tenacity, the same encouragement goes into his game whether we are losing heavily or winning and he always respects the game and the people involved with it. Freddie, voted for by the watching parents, is our nomination for Club Player of the Season”.
Zak Speechley – MYFC U9
“Zak is an outstanding footballer with an immense level of passion for the beautiful game! 100% attendance on practice and on match invites. Often the first one there and the last one to leave, making sure that the coach has been offered help to put up the equipment and helped taking it down. More importantly than football though; Zak is an extremely conscientious boy. Looking after his team mates and the opposition, making sure that everybody is fairly treated, volunteering for the MYFC Youth Forum to talk about the priorities of his team and take part in forming the future for MYFC. Polite and respectful, a true joy to coach and see develop as a player and as a person! Zak is also playing football at an elevated level in the Junior Premier League for Wiltshire FC”
Timon Piercy – MYFC U13 Colts
“Timon is a polite quiet lad that loves his football, he is always one of the first if not the first to come to training, he listens and learns, due to this he has improved over the season and grown in confidence. Timon is liked by all of his teammates, this was evident when he scored his first goal at the end of this season, as soon as the ball went in I couldn’t see the goal scorer at first as the whole team was in a massive huddle around the player, slowly Timon emerged from the masses with the biggest smile on his face. In short; he is a pleasure to coach and popular with his peers”.
