A strange Pandemic year so there are two ‘Player of the Year’ sets of awards announced by Marlborough Youth Football Club.
For the season – 2020-21 just passed, MYFC were delighted to announce that the following players were voted in by Public and Parents and by the Club vote.
- Public and Parents Vote: Mia Evans (U10 Angels)
- Club Vote: Niamh Hourd (U15 Angels)
The club were also delighted to confirm the winner of last season’s 2019-20 awards:
- Public and Parents Vote: Olivia Hancock (U13 Angels and mixed)
- Club Vote: Olivia Hancock (U13 Angels and mixed)
MYFC Chair Stuart Slater told Marlborough.news: “Many congratulations to Mia, Niamh and Olivia, and to all of the players who were nominated this season and last – they all deserve great credit for their outstanding contribution to their teams and their Club.”
He also added that the voting for this season’s awards broke all records and went down to the wire, adding: “These awards are important Club tradition: a celebration of all of our players’ achievements after a very challenging season indeed. There is always a positive to be found in the most challenging of circumstances, and for me, the past eighteen months have shown us all the importance of grassroots community sport, and also demonstrated the strength and resilience of the Club; both volunteers and players”.
