As the weekend weather washed out most cricket, a brief respite allowed Marlborough to host their Kwik Cricket tournament on Sunday Morning.
Teams from Devizes, Wilcot and Burbage joined Marlborough to play at their Savernake Ground. Over 40 under 9’s made the most of the early morning sunshine to get out and play some competitive cricket in the one of the first tournaments of the season. Wilcot went on to become Champions winning all of their 3 games.
Nick Down, Marlborough’s 2nd XI captain and organiser of the Kwik Cricket tournament said: “The aim of the tournament is just to get the kids enjoying the game in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Hopefully some of these players come through their respective academies and end up playing against each other for many years to come”.
