A coffee morning in Wye House gardens on Thursday September 23 has raised nearly £500 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Organised by Bridget Bird, Manager of Wye House, the coffee morning was attended by Marlborough’s Mayor, Cllr Mark Cooper.
Local resident, Val Compton, who attended the coffee morning, told Marlborough.news “Bridget Bird organised a fabulous coffee morning in the beautiful setting of Wye House Gardens which belongs to Marlborough Town Council. Cake was in abundance and people really enjoyed meeting and sitting around the tables for a good chat with their coffee.
The atmosphere was gently buzzing, residents of Wye House had loaned garden furniture for the event and a gazebo had been erected just in case the good weather didn’t hold. Too many people to name offered a helping hand, Bridget is legendary for fund raising in Marlborough, her events always go to plan. Residents from other Cognatum complexes also came to join in the fundraising event.”
Bridget Bird said, “I would like to thank all the helpers, especially Nigel, Marlborough Town Council’s Grounds Manager. Thank you also to all those who attended and to the homeowners of Wye House for their generous donations.”
All the money raised will go to support Macmillan Cancer Support services in the local area.
