A photography exhibition entitled ‘We stand with Ukraine’, dedicated to the second anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine and held in St Peter’s this week, has raised £600 for medical aid for Ukraine. Organiser, Anna Savytska, said, “I would like to thank everyone who came along and supported us.”

The exhibition showed the extent of the destruction and devastation of homes and schools and public buildings as recorded on mobile phones belonging to the Ukrainians who have now found refuge in Marlborough and the surrounding area. It is still possible to view the exhibition as it has now been moved to St John the Baptist Church, Pewsey.
The funds raised will help Direct Aid to Ukraine – a group led by Simon Ellis. This group delivers vehicles filled with humanitarian and medical supplies to East Ukraine and donates them to frontline medics. Simon has just returned from delivering the seventh vehicle to East Ukraine. Direct Aid to Ukraine initially started operations by delivering food and medical supplies to Poland and Slovakia during the refugee crisis.
Simon spoke about his work at the opening of the St Peter’s exhibition on Saturday February 23rd. If you would like to support the work of Direct Aid to Ukraine click here.
