Two local scout groups who are organising events for the Queen’s diamond jubilee and the Olympics have won “green token” funding from Waitrose during April to support their Community Matters enterprise.
Savernake Forest’s Scout Group have received £345 towards creating a special wildlife area in Burbage to mark the jubilee year while Pewsey Beaver Cub Scout Colony has been given £296 for their project designing and decorating their own Olympic T-shirts.
Another £359 has gone towards the Marlborough and Manton Schools, who will be buying T-shirts for children to wear at both events, the Olympic Torch procession and the jubilee weekend celebrations.
