The Trustees of the St John’s Foundation Trust have donated funds for a new minibus for use by St John’s Marlborough, and to loan to the school’s linked primary schools.
The £40,000 donation has enabled the school to purchase a new 17-seater Peugeot Boxer Lite Minibus, which has both fixed and removable seating to allow wheelchair access.
The Trustees visited St John’s on 5th November to meet St John’s Principal Alan Henderson, see the recently delivered minibus, and declare it officially part of the St John’s fleet.
Chair of Trustees, Steve Tapper, said, “The Trustees were approached by St John’s when a new minibus was required, and we were delighted to be able to make this donation to cover the majority of the cost. It is so important for schools to have transport available for students to attend sporting fixtures, visits, trips etc., and we know it will be heavily used at St John’s. We are particularly pleased that the minibus has wheelchair access, and we look forward to hearing how it has been used.”
The St John’s Foundation Trust, registered Charity #1078080 was originally formed to deal with donations and endowments made to the former Marlborough Grammar School in previous centuries. The Trustees meet and award grants to benefit St John’s Marlborough and its students.
