Travel by Hannah in Marlborough’s High Street was named the South West’s Top Travel Agency as part of the TTG Top 50 Travel Agencies 2022: an annual list of the nation’s best agents compiled by the Travel Trade Gazette (TTG). Hannah Porter, who only started her business in December 2020, was presented with the award at a ceremony at The Vox, Birmingham, on Thursday March 24 in front of 450 of the UK and Ireland’s top travel agents and supplier-partners with entertainment from Brit Award-winning singer Will Young.
Hannah told Marlborough.news, “This is a huge honour for myself and the team here. ‘Travel by Hannah’ was born in the pandemic when travel was being impacted in ways we’d never imagined. To achieve this award in our first full year is so humbling and I’m ever so proud and thankful. Thank you to everyone in Marlborough, the surrounding areas and all over the country who have welcomed and supported us.”
The judges of the award said, “Hannah and her team possess the perfect mix of experience, expertise and dedication required to be able to providing outstanding service to their customers. Getting out into the local community and proactively promoting more sustainable travel options also helped this passionate team stand out this year. A very worthy winner.”
Hannah commented, “We work hard to look after our customers and give them peace of mind. Every week we announce two or three hot offers on social media that can’t be bought elsewhere locally. Since the pandemic people are more aware of how the travel choices they make can impact the world. We are just about to launch a carbon off-setting option where we are able to calculate the cost of the carbon emissions of a trip and the customer can off-set this by investing in community projects around the world.”
TTG group editor Pippa Jacks said: “Now in its seventh year, our TTG Top 50 Travel Agencies initiative sees us tour the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland to find those travel agents who have worked smartest, provided the best customer service, and done most to contribute to a fairer travel industry, in the last 12 months.”
“Travel agents have come through the most challenging two years in the industry’s history, but by offering expert advice and support to customers throughout the pandemic, our Top 50 winners have all won new clients and are looking ahead to a bright future.”
