Trail Break’s Ride to Remember Remembrance Day ride from Ramsbury Brewery raised over £6,000 for the Poppy Appeal and Ramsbury British Legion.
As reported earlier Trail Break’s Ride to Remember covered a daunting 50km course across the local countryside, organised by Trail Break, the sixth time this has been run but the first time it has started from Ramsbury.
Yesterday – Thursday 23 November – was when the cheque for £5,000 for all the direct donations was presented by Trail Break to the representatives of the Ramsbury British Legion at the Ramsbury Brewery. As well as the direct donations, a further £515 was raised from donations on the day itself and £620 from individual rider sponsorship. So in total – £6,135 was raised by the ‘Ride to Remember’.
Martin Harrison from Trail Break said “We started this event in 2018 for the armistice centenary, and this has been our most successful edition to date. Working with a fantastic host like Ramsbury Brewery has been a pleasure, and the support we’ve had locally from Swindon Cycles has been invaluable in preparing for the event. We enjoyed bright sunshine and a wonderful atmosphere on the day, and we’re delighted to have been able to raise such a good total for the British Legion”.
Nik Fordham, General Manager of Ramsbury Brewing & Distilling told Marlborough.news: “We are proud to be able to assist with and promote some of the amazing work that is undertaken by the Royal British legion in order to recognise and support all those who have given so much for us all. The event was a fantastic success and it was a pleasure to work with Trail Break once again and we look forward to many more association with both organisations.”
Hazel Keen from Ramsbury Brewing and distilling added: “We were delighted to support such a worthy cause that benefits not only nationally but our local Royal British Legion in Ramsbury too. It was a pleasure to host Trail Break who delivered this special event so professionally and to see so many people who came to enjoy the day and offer their support. Thank you to all who helped to make the day so memorable. We look forward to hosting more cycle events next year!”
Trail Break will be bringing the event back to Ramsbury again in 2024, and before then will be teaming up with Ramsbury Brewery and Swindon Cycles again in the summer for the Ramsbury Triple BBB summer ride, BBQ and Swindon Cycles demo day on June 8th.
