St Michael’s C of E VA Primary School in Aldbourne decided to celebrate World Book day with a whole week of activities dedicated to poetry. Pupils also participated in a ‘book swap’ run by Aldbourne Children’s Book Group.

Judith Arkwright, Headteacher, told marlborough.news, “Throughout the week, the school was immersed in all things poetry. From individual poems performed in classrooms, to whole-class performances, every class has embraced the joy and creativity of poetry!
Finalists stood up in front of their peers and a panel of judges to perform their poems. The judges were truly impressed by the talent, enthusiasm, and confidence shown by all the performers and they had the difficult task of selecting winners from such an outstanding range of performances!

Every class came together to perform a class poem too and we were so proud of them all for being part of a memorable celebration of poetry!
