UPDATE: LATEST NEWS 1030 Tuesday, December 24: Wilthsire Police Traffic Watch lists 22 rain-related road incidents across the county.
These include: at 6.40 this morning the A338 south of Burbage was flooded and several vehicles had been abondoned in the flood waters. The police say find other routes.
And earlier this morning there were reports that the A4 at Froxfield was flooded and the road covered in tree debris.

The Wiltshire Police stated at 2.15 pm on Monday (December 23) that the severe weather was affecting all roads in the county and warned that forecasters were predicting the strong winds and rain would worsen during the evening.
The A345 Marlborough-Pewsey road was closed for two hours at Clench Common after a traffic accident at the Wellsomers Farm corner. At one time an ambulance, three fire tenders and two paramedic vehicles were at the scene.
There is no immediate news of injuries.
A traffic incident at Cadley in Savernake Forest blocked the A346 Marlborough-Salisbury road for a time. Emergency services were attending and at 12.24 the Police were warning of long delays.
At 3.00pm police announced that the B4192 was closed between Whittonditch and Aldbourne due to a fallen tree and a live cable across the road. Drivers were asked to find alternative routes.
Many roads are partially flooded or covered with flowing run-off from nearby fields.
Later news: at 4.37pm Police reported that a tree had fallen on the A345 at Oare and that part of the embankment has slipped causing lots of mud and debris to spill across the road. Drivers were asked to take extra care.
