Not quite there yet…… As of yesterday (27 May) there was still £135,000 to be raised before the target will be realised and the business plan can be taken forwards.
It will be a community-owned pub. The local community has been given the opportunity to buy and run The Silks on the Downs as a community pub, owned by and run for the benefit of all in the area.
Not long to go, nor too far off the funding target needed. Shares are priced at £50 each and sold in blocks of four – so each investment will be for £200 or more.
What will an investor get? A good local community owned and run pub, something that is becoming increasingly rare and cherished, made so much worse by the pandemic and lockdown periods of the past year and more.
