Robin’s World Travel, which this year celebrates 35 years on Marlborough’s High Street, has been awarded ‘Best Independent Travel Agency’ in the 2020 UK Enterprise Awards which is hosted by SME (Small & Medium Enterprise) News.
Jessie Wilson, Awards Executive for UK Enterprise Awards, said, “Robin’s World Travel has demonstrated excellence, commitment, dedication even in the face of uncertainty. For this we humbly commend you. I hope in the midst of everything this news is well received and brings a smile to your face.”
This prestigious award is open to over 5.9 million SME’s trading in the UK. The aim of the 2020 UK Enterprise Awards is to find the best businesses across the nation! If successful the accolade affirms that the business is truly a leader within their field.
The 2020 UK Enterprise Awards are based on merit, not the number of votes received. The process works to ensure that they reward parties based on their excellence in the industry, the quality of their products and their dedication to customer service. To move successfully from nominee to winner, there must be evidence of extensive expertise and skills, dedication to customer service and client satisfaction with an on-going commitment to excellence and innovation demonstrated by the nominated business.
Hannah Porter, Manager of Robin’s World Travel told Marlborough.news, “I am so proud and overwhelmed that we have won a UK Enterprise Award. We were notified we had been nominated in March this year, shortlisted in May and received confirmation we have won today, July 8.
The official nomination and award occurs in August but we wanted to share the news with everyone as soon as we heard! Thank you to those who nominated us and to all our customers, old and new, all over the world, for their support. You allow us to love what we do and share that with you. It’s wonderful to have the hard work we put into making our business the best and really caring for our customers recognised.”
Hannah took over as manager at Robin’s World Travel in January which was the best January in the 35 years the shop has been open. Then lockdown hit and the agency worked through the cancellations, rebookings and refunds for customers.
Hannah commented, “The value of using a travel agency was really apparent during lockdown. We have saved a lot of people a lot of time and taken away the stress and hassle of applying for refunds or rebooking.
Receiving the award shows that although we’ve been open for 35 years we are constantly thinking ahead and innovating and it’s really a testimony at this time to get such as an award!”
