64 children from Ramsbury Primary School participated in the Flight Centre Schools Triathlon on Sunday May 22 at Marlborough College. The children competed in teams of four completing relays of swimming, cycling and running whilst raising thousands of pounds for Restless Development and local charities. Restless Development is a global development charity powered by young people. Ramsbury pupils also raised money for UK to Ukraine, a local charity based in Axford which supports Ukrainian refugees in Ukraine and Poland.
The Year 3-4 teams started with an intense 50m relay swim, with the Year 5-6 teams undertaking 100m each. They were all cheered on by hundreds of excited parents. Next came the 1000m cycling labyrinth on grass and all finished with a 750m run. The team crossing the finish line together gained rapturous applause!
In the Year 3-4 group, the awesome ‘Ramsbury Strikers’ came 6th out of 94 teams and in the Year 5-6 group, the incredible ‘Ramsbury Jedi’s’ came 5th out of 127 teams!
Assistant Head Teacher, Sophie Pollock said, “It was a fantastic performance from the children of Ramsbury Primary School who showed incredible sportsmanship throughout the day.
