More than 80 drivers were stopped by police today in a clampdown on speeding in the Marlborough and Pewsey area.
Eighty three drivers were warned about their speed, and 24 were issued with fixed penalty notices. One vehicle was seized, and one driver reported to court.
PC David Tippets said: “One of our current priorities is road safety and this operation is designed to show the public that we are listening to their concerns.
“We want all road users to be able to use the roads through the town and villages safely.”
Any motorists found to be speeding are either liable for a fixed penalty notice for £100 and three points on their driving licence, or being summonsed to court.
