The Pewsey is Open event, held on Saturday September 25, raised £1762 for a new defibrillator and celebrated all that the village has to offer. The many visitors to the event were able to find out more about the clubs and organisations in Pewsey, take a ride in a horse and carriage, visit the Heritage centre and take a Heritage walk around the village, browse craft stalls, win a prize at the tombola, find out about Pewsey Community Land Trust and much more. Many of the shops were offering special discounts and refreshments.
Groups of musicians were playing throughout the day and there was a fancy dress competition and a treasure trail for children.
Ali Kent, Pewsey Parish Clerk, told Marlborough.news, “It was an absolutely fantastic event. It was so good to see so many people enjoying themselves and finding out more about the village. Thank you to everyone including the Councillors for making it such a success. A particular thank you to Cllr Lisa Brindley and Cllr Lizzie Humfrees. We look forward to doing it all again next year.”
Cllr Lisa Brindley said, “What an amazing day the atmosphere was buzzing in Pewsey. A great day had by all. Thank you to everyone for coming out and supporting our Pewsey is Open day.”
