Some of you may have noticed the new white ‘gateways’ and signs welcoming drivers to Marlborough as they cross the town boundary. Some of you may have been held up by traffic lights, with trucks, workmen and other construction gear actually putting them in. These have been a long time coming – see this piece (January last year) when the signs were discussed and the colour being decided (they went with black).
It’s taken a long time – over a year – to turn this plan into action, but (thankfully) nowhere near as long as the Port Hill crossing deliberations have been going on (OK, that’s Wiltshire Council Highways, not the Town Council).
A welcome addition to the town’s signage furniture.
