A new recycled plastic bench has been installed at Stonebridge Wild River Reserve, Marlborough. Action for the River Kennet(ARK), the charity and joint owners of the water meadow with Marlborough Town Council are delighted to be able to provide an additional bench for visitors and users of the award winning site on the east side of Marlborough
The 15-acre reserve has undergone a number of improvements this year, including an extension to one of the recycled plastic boardwalks to improve access and a new bird watching panel, both constructed by ARK volunteers.
ARK Senior Project Office, Anna Forbes, said, “The installation of this terrific recycled plastic bench will be very popular. It is something users have requested within the area between the wetland and the conservation grazing area. We are grateful for the fantastically generous support of locally based business AM which makes this puchase possible. The site attracts visitors of all ages, so getting another robust bench with a back and arms was important.”
Martha Fogg, MD at AM, said, “AM are delighted to be able to support ARK in its wonderful work in protecting and improving the River Kennet, which runs right past our offices. Our staff frequently enjoy using the Stonebridge Wild River Reserve as an escape during the working day and we are so grateful to have such a lovely space in the heart of Marlborough. The AM team are proud to volunteer with ARK and provide financial support to this inspirational charity that has done so much to improve our local environment.”
The next enhancement in the pipeline for this beautiful green and blue space, where you may be lucky enough to spot a kingfisher or even an otter are ramp extensions to the wetland boardwalk.
