Wiltshire-based charity Beyond Dementia will soon offer people living with dementia in Marlborough and surrounding areas the opportunity to enjoy gentle exercise and time outdoors, as it launches its new Walking Boots group on Monday 19 January.
Walking Boots will meet on alternate Mondays throughout the year, taking relaxed walks at different locations in the Wiltshire countryside.
Jonathan Aldridge-Mansfield, Head of Community Services at Beyond Dementia, said:
“Walking Boots evolved from the idea of giving people living with dementia who enjoy walking a safe and inclusive way to continue enjoying the outdoors.
“The group will combine gentle exercise, along with the simple pleasure of being together – we look forward to getting started.”
The group is part of Beyond Dementia’s wider work supporting people living with dementia, their families and carers across Wiltshire. To find out more about their services, visit: www.beyonddementia.org.uk
