With the end of term fast approaching here’s some more details and photos of some of the wonderful nativity plays that have been taking place in our local Primary Schools.
Ogbourne Primary School children performed The Landlord’s Cat. Lucy Crump, Principal, said, “The children captivated the audience with their portrayal of three curious cats who witnessed the events of the Christmas unfolding in the stable, learning the true meaning of Christmas. We were incredibly proud of all of the children who performed beautifully to put on a brilliant show, with some delightful singing.”
St Michael’s School, Aldbourne also performed The Landlord’s Cat – a Christmas nativity play telling the tale of a Bethlehem cat who becomes curious about Mary and Joseph’s arrival at the inn.
Year 2 were the main stars, Year 1 were shepherds and Reception were angels, singing and dancing to the ‘Faster Than a Rocket’ song that is a long standing St Michael’s tradition. Years 3-6 provided the perfect choir to accompany the younger years, including some Year 6 soloists who all sang beautifully.
“We are so proud of the children for their amazing performances of ‘The Landlord’s Cat’.
From cats and mice creeping around the stage, to shepherds and wise men bobbing along their journey to Bethlehem, all the way through to a candlelit solo of Once in Royal, it was as magical as ever,” commented Judith Arkwright, Headteacher, St Michael’s Primary School, Aldbourne.
At Ramsbury Primary School reception and Key Stage 1 children joined together to retell the story of The Very First Christmas. Traditional songs and familiar characters made this retelling a magical story for everyone to enjoy.
“It was such a joy to watch and a lovely way to start the festive season,” commented a Grandparent of a Class 1 pupil.
Mrs McCallum, Class 1 Teacher, said, “The children all did a fantastic job and really embraced the spirit of Christmas for their nativity. We were all so impressed with how confidently the children performed to their parents and loved ones.”
