Marlborough’s Mayor Cllr Mark Cooper declared The Merchant’s House open again for business following the enforced COVID-19 Lockdown.
Accompanied by Alison Galvin-Wright, Chair of The Merchants House Trust, and Trust Manager, Katie Fairfax-Ross Mayor Cooper declared the Merchant’s House shop open.
“We are delighted to announce that we are open as from today and we are officially ‘Good To Go’ and that The Merchant’s House has been awarded a ‘Visit England’ certificate of compliance confirming that our shop fully meets the COVID-19 Industry Standard” explained Trust Manager Katie.
“Significant changes have been put in place to protect our staff, volunteers and customers” she added, noting that hand sanitisers and gloves are available to all visitors to the well-stocked store.
The Merchant’s House and shop can be explored in advance of any visit via their website.
“This will be on my desk at every ZOOM meeting of the Town Council” stated Mayor Mark after buying one of The Merchant’s House Marlborough mugs on display. However, normal plastic had to prevail for that transaction as even the Town Mayor’s chain was rejected as a contactless payment device!
