NFU Mutual Agents and their staff at the Marlborough Agency recently presented local charity, Helping Victims of Domestic Violence (HVDV), with a cheque for £7,899. Each of the 280 branches of NFU Mutual is given the opportunity to nominate a local charity to receive a donation from NFU’s national £2.33million ‘Agency Giving Fund’ thus ensuring the donations reach areas where they are needed the most.
This fund, now in its sixth year, is used to help local frontline charities across the country. The Agency Giving Fund forms part of NFU Mutual’s £4m 2025 funding pledge for both local and national charities. They are keen to support frontline services in rural communities.
This donation has enabled HVDV, to purchase a van to allow them to collect more food surplus donations to distribute to local families as well as families suffering from the effects of domestic violence. With life being a struggle for a lot of people the charity is finding that parents and the elderly are going without food just so they can make sure the children get fed. They are seeing more and more people at their community table. It started with 10 families and now there can be at least 50-80 families per day. A van will take so much pressure off the volunteers and will enable the charity to help so many more families in need.
Kevin, Founder & Chair of HVDV commented, “It is truly amazing and the difference it will create is amazing. So thank you to the Marlborough Agency of NFU Mutual for nominating our charity to receive a donation from the NFU Mutual Agency Giving Fund.”
John Hardman, Senior Agent at NFU Mutual Marlborough commented, “We’re extremely proud to have nominated HVDV for this donation and are delighted to be able to support the vital contribution they make to our community. The purpose of NFU Mutual’s Agency Giving Fund is to support local frontline charities who are providing essential services to people in our community, and our agency felt that HVDV was a very deserving cause to champion.”
