It has been another energetic and successful sporting year for pupils at Marlborough St Mary’s culminating in the Year 5/6 Athletics Team excelling in running, jumping, and throwing and being crowned Wiltshire School Games Champions for 2024. There have, however, been many other outstanding sporting achievements.
At the Girls’ Football Festival three teams competed and secured first and second places in the A festival. The Girls’ Cricket Team clinched second place at the festival held at Marlborough Cricket Club.
In the County Finals three teams reached the finals in three different sports. The Boys’ Cricket Team won a bronze medal after battling the heat and showing perseverance at Swindon Cricket Club. And in the School Games Qualifiers two teams qualified for the prestigious School Games in golf and athletics. The Year 4/5 Golf Team displayed determination and excellent teamwork and secured an impressive second place.

Our fun-filled sports day and dynamic sports week offered students the chance to explore new and diverse sports. Additionally, our trips to Wimbledon and Bristol Cricket Ground, along with numerous festivals made for unforgettable experiences. Congratulations to all our pupils for their dedication and outstanding achievements. Your hard work and sportsmanship have made this term truly impressive and fun-filled. Keep up the fantastic work!”
