
The first confirmed authors for the 2015 event include the novelist, poet and children’s writer Helen Dunmore. She won the Orange Prize in 1996 with A Spell of Winter. And her historical novel about the Second World War siege of Leningrad – titled The Siege – was shortlisted for the Orange Prize and for the Whitbread Novel of the Year.
Also confirmed for the 2015 programme are historical biographer and novelist Alison Weir and the broadcaster and journalist Bidisha.
The programme that is being put together will feature childrens’ authors, workshops, new and young fiction writers, crime writers and poetry events.
The LitFest’s founding sponsor, the Authors’ Licensing and Collecting Society is joined again by lead sponsor Brewin Dolphin. Events will be sponsored by Hiscox Insurance, Duncan Morris Solicitors, Dauntsey’s School, Marlborough College and St Francis School.
